What is Oktoberfest?
Oktoberfest started in 1810 in Germany to toast the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, the future King Ludwig I, and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Then it became an annual event to celebrate Bavarian culture and beer that normally runs for 16 days with the last day being the first Sunday in October.
