Best Oktoberfest Events in Norfolk

While the main Oktoberfest might take place in Munich, that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate it here in Norfolk. Beer lovers can enjoy several Oktoberfest Events in Norfolk.

What is Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest started in 1810 in Germany to toast the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, the future King Ludwig I, and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Then it became an annual event to celebrate Bavarian culture and beer that normally runs for 16 days with the last day being the first Sunday in October.

Oktoberfest Events in Norfolk in 2024

While the festivities in Norfolk may not be as big as the ones in Munich, there is still a lot of fun to be had. You can expect lots of beer, music, and traditional German foods.

Some events are free, while others you will need to buy a ticket. There are also some Oktoberfest events that are family-friendly, where you can bring the kids.

Norwich Oktoberfest at Epic Studios

When: 11 – 12 October

For 2024, Norwich Oktoberfest is back at Epic Studios, and will again feature the Oompah act, The Bavarian Strollers are back. They will be joined by one of the best party bands around, NightTrain, with chart-topping anthems and Euro-Pop classics.

You are encouraged to wear Bavarian outfit or a pair of classic Lederhosen, but it’s not required. There will be plenty of authentic Bavarian beers served in steins and Bratwurst sausages (with meat and vegan options).

This event sells out, so it’s recommended to get tickets early! All tickets have access to seats.

Oktobyfest at Norwich Market

When: 25 – 28 October

Sir Toby’s Beers, a specialist beer shop at Norwich Market, will be hosting their version of Oktoberfest called Oktobyfest for the seventh time. This is an outdoor event, so coats are recommended.

It’s starts off with a special tasting night and then three evenings of celebrating beer, including the official festival brews from some of the Munich breweries you find at the real festival in Germany. Henry’s Hog Roast will also be there offering a special menu.

Oktoberfest in Setchey, King’s Lynn

When: 4 – 5 October

The Warehouse Taproom is hosting another Oktoberfest event with authentic German food, entertainment and of course beer directly imported from Munich Big Six Breweries. In addition to beer, they will also have German wine, Schnapps, and other themed beverages. There will be traditional music too!

Oktoberfest – A Harvest Celebration, West Acre

When: 27 – 29 September

Duration Brewery is hosting Oktoberfest again after selling out their first Oktoberfest in 2021. You are welcome to come in German Dress Up (optional), the brewery will be decorated in Bavarian Style. It will feature a 10 tap line up with good food, good music and good times.

Oktoberfest at Redwell Brewery

When: 27 – 28 September

Redwell Brewery is bringing the Oktoberfest spirit to Norwich! Get ready for authentic Beer Hall treats, a special German guest beer bar, and deals on Redwell beer – grab 4 jugs and celebrate in style! Plus, if you’re rocking fancy dress, enjoy a free schnapps shot on the house!

When: 26 – 29 September

Enjoy four days of authentic German beers, delicious food from Blue Goose, and a whole lot of fun. The best of Munich’s legendary Oktoberfest is coming to The Whalebone, offering the chance to celebrate in true Bavarian style!

Oktoberfest at the Cap

When: 4 – 6 October

A weekend of crisp lagers, great tunes, and delicious street food is in store! Peaky Pizzas will be serving up cheesy creations with a German twist, while the JDS Acoustic Band keeps the atmosphere lively. The Dirty Fryer Boys will be dishing out tasty bites, with Otter’s Pocket getting everyone up and dancing. To round off the celebrations, enjoy a laid-back performance from the Humpty Doo Trio.

Oktoberfest at Yalm

When: 29 September – 8 October

Yalm is celebrating Oktoberfest with a week of Bavarian fun! Enjoy authentic Munich festival beers like Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, and Spaten, plus exclusive brews from Ampersand, Duration, and Cloudwater. Indulge in special Bavarian dishes from Yalm’s food vendors and grab a stein for the full festival experience. With live music, a sausage shop, raffles, prizes, and a special event with Ampersand Brewery, there’s plenty to enjoy. Drinks packages and Bavarian breakfasts are also available.

When: 11 & 12 and 18 & 19 October

Get ready for OktoberFEAST at The Ffolkes, where steins are overflowing with top-tier craft beer, and the fun never stops! With street food featuring a Bavarian twist, live music from Wurst Brass, and an epic DJ set from The Party Starters, this celebration is set to keep the party going all night long. Oktoberfest at Britannia Pier, Great Yarmouth

The Britannia Pier Oktoberfest promises a lively celebration filled with dancing, authentic German beers, beer pong, and fantastic tunes. With the bar staying open late, it’s set to be a night of non-stop fun!

Oktoberfest at the Gangway and Lines End, Sheringham

When: 27 – 28 September

Celebrate Oktoberfest at Gangway Sheringham and The Lines End Sheringham with an incredible selection of beers!
