When it comes time to mark the end of a year and the start of a new one, you need to celebrate. New Year’s Eve should be a special night to get the new year off to a good start.

Let me share the best events for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in Norfolk.

New Year’s Eve Events in Norfolk

There are plenty of parties and special dinners on New Year’s Eve in Norfolk. As it is a special occasion, many events have dress codes and will be more expensive than other nights of the year. Don’t worry these things to do on New Year’s Eve in Norfolk will be worth it!

**The UK government confirmed on 27/12 that no new restrictions will be implemented before New Year’s Eve in England. Still it is recommended that you take a lateral flow test before attending events and stay home if you have a positive result or symptoms.

Masquerade Ball at the Rooftop Gardens

Ring in the New Year with stunning views over Norwich at the Rooftop Gardens. You can choose to enjoy a delicious three-course meal or just join for the evening event and casino.

There will be plenty of live entertainment includings a saxophonist, a live musician playing a selection of acoustic classics, and a live dj playing music from the 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s 00’s and now. The casino will have two blackjack and two roulette tables with prizes that you can win.

The event starts at 19:00 on the heated Cathedral Terrace and then at 00:30 the music will move inside. You can go dress in whatever you feel most comfortable in but the theme is black and gold. There will be prizes for best dressed.

New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner at the Norfolk Mead Hotel

See in the New Year with friends and family in the restaurant or Georgian Room of the Norfolk Mead Hotel in the pretty Broads village of Coltishall.

The evening starts at 18:30 with canapes on arrival. Then at 19:00 you sit down for a ten-course menu (includes cheese and coffee). After dinner, there is a New Year’s Party in the Garden Room and at midnight there are fireworks.

Price: £115.00 per adult (no under 18s allowed).

New Year’s Eve Gala Ball or Family Celebration at Dunston Hall

At Dunston Hall, there are two NYE parties on 31 December. The magnificent Gala Ball is for those 18 and up. It’s a black tie event that starts with a glass of fizz and also includes a delicious four-course meal and dancing to the DJ and band.

For those that want to include kids in the celebration, there is the less formal option of the Family Celebration. It includes a glass of bubbly and a four-course buffet. There is also a DJ to keep the party going.

Price: Gala Ball is £99 per person or the Family Celebration is £79 per person or £45 for those 4-12 (under 4 are free). They also offer packages that include overnight stays. More details here.

New Year’s Eve Ball at Carrow Road

Ring in 2022 at the Top of the Terrace at Carrow Road (home to Norwich City Football Club) with a glass of fizz and five-course meal from Delia’s overlooking the floodlit pitch. There will also be gaming tables and dancing to Joe Ringers live band.

This is a black tie event for 18 and over only. It starts at 19:00 and goes until 01:00.

New Year’s Eve Party at the Links Hotel

Celebrate 2021 and welcome in 2022 in this year at the Links Country Park Hotel in West Runton. Starting at 19:30 with a pre-dinner glass of bubbly and live music from Dale Bullimore, North Norfolk’s own Michael Bublé.

A four-course dinner (with vegetarian options available) will be served at 20:00. Later, the musical entertainment continues and you can dance the night away.

New Years Eve Celebration at the Sea Marge Hotel

Countdown to 2022 at the Sea Marge Hotel in Overstrand. Start the evening with a pre dinner drink in the bar and live music from Carl Noble singing classic rat pack and swing. Then sit down to enjoy a six-course Gala dinner (vegetarian options available). After dinner the musical entertainment continues in the bar with Carl and a disco.

NYE Low Bang Fireworks at Wroxham Barns

If you are looking for a socially distanced way to celebrate the end of 2021, Wroxham Barns, just outside the village of Wroxham, is having a fireworks show where each party gets its own square that is two metres from the next group. The low bang fireworks display will be set to kid-friendly music.

You can enjoy rides in the fun park and entry to Junior Farm for the evening. The catering areas will be open, and there will also be food trucks. Bring a blanket and/or camping chairs so you won’t be sitting on the ground.

Price: One ticket which costs £60 gets you one pitch that is for up to 6 people (including children and babies). This includes admission to the Junior Farm and rides at the Fun Park. All tickets must be prebooked here.

New Year’s Eve Bollywood Bash at Namaste Village

Celebrate the New Year Bollywood style at Namaste Village in Norwich. There will be live music from The Man From Africa, dancing, drinks, and unlimited food. If you haven’t eaten at Namaste before, it is one of the best Indian restaurants in Norwich.

The party starts at 16:00 and goes all the way to midnight. You can choose to go early just for the food or go later for nibbles and the party.

Price: There are 3 ticket options. For £29.95, you get the Rockstar which includes live music and unlimited food. For £17.95, you get the Foodie ticket and can join the party and unlimited buffet from 16:00 to 20:00. New Year’s Eve at Byfords

See in 2022 at Byfords with fantastic food, drinks, and games. They have a special New Year’s Eve menu. You’ll want to get there for 19:00 so you have time to enjoy the food, games, and quizzes before toasting the New Year at midnight.

New Year’s Eve 2021: Casino Royale at Hockwold Hall

Celebrate the New Year with a James Bond theme at Hockwold Hall. It starts with welcome drinks at 18:30, then there will be an elegantly plated dinner, more drinks, dancing, and casino games. There will be live music to keep the party going well into the night.

The dress code is black-tie or fancy dress and there will be special prizes awarded for best dressed.

New Year’s Eve Party at the Boathouse

Come and celebrate New Year’s Eve at The Boathouse on the Norfolk Broads. The doors open at 19:00 and Paul Allen, the DJ, will start at 20:00. There will be a one-course hot and cold buffet.

New Year’s Eve at Street Feast at the Ffolkes

End 2021 at the Ffolkes with some amazing food from a variety of local street food vendors, sparkling drinks including cocktails and craft cider, fun tunes from a guest DJs, and a fireworks display at midnight.

It’s a family-friendly event, but keep in mind most tables are outdoors. There are heaters but it’s best to dress warmly.

Price: It’s £3 to enter from 17:00 -19:30 and £15 entry from 19:30 – 00:30. Children under 12 are free. You can book tables for 1 hour 45 minutes. Get more information here.

New Year’s Day Events in Norfolk

While New Year’s Eve tends to be the day most people celebrate, you might want to save some energy for New Year’s Day. The main event is the Fireworks in Cromer.

Fireworks Display in Cromer

UPDATE: The Cromer New Year’s Eve Fireworks display is on as of 28/12, but they have cancelled the Torchlight procession and Fun Run.

The New Year’s Day Fireworks Display in Cromer has been a tradition for more than 20 years and it is back for 2022. This event raises money to pay for the Cromer Fireworks display each year and for local charities.

As you might expect, the town will be busy so we recommend that you get there early. Don’t worry there are activities starting in the afternoon to keep you entertained. Shops and cafes will also be open.

Here is the schedule for the day:

14:00 – Registration opens at Cromer Museum for volunteer bucket collectors

14:00 to 16:30 – Torches for procession and mulled wine on sale outside Cromer Museum. Tea, coffee and other refreshments will be on sale at Cromer Church

14:30 – Registration opens at Cromer Pier Forecourt for fun run

15:00 – Fun run starts at Cromer Pier Forecourt (organised by North Norfolk Beach Runners)

16:30 – Torchlight procession leaves North Lodge Park

17:00 – Fireworks display starts at Cromer Pier

Norwich Pops Orchestra New Year’s Day Concert

UPDATE: This event has been cancelled due to COVID.

Celebrate the New Year with a concert of traditional Viennese favourites.

New Year’s Day Brunch Feast at the Ffolkes

After all the celebrations, you will want to refuel. Enjoy an unlimited brunch feast on 1 January from 8:00 until 14:30. You can fill up on all the sausages, bacon, fruit, granola, pancakes and pastries you could ask for.
