Tucked away in the heart of Norwich city centre, just a stone’s throw from the bustling market, you’ll find a true hidden gem: The Wine Cellar. This isn’t just a fine dining restaurant. It’s a place where delicious food, carefully chosen wines, and genuinely warm service come together to create a memorable experience.

Whether you’re after a relaxed, long lunch or a great-value supper that still feels like a treat, The Wine Cellar is well worth checking out. You can share a bottle (or a few) with friends, with the help of their lovely team who really know their stuff and are always happy to guide you through the wine list. They’re passionate about making wine feel fun and accessible, not intimidating.

It’s more than just a restaurant too. The Wine Cellar regularly hosts tastings and events, and it doubles as a gallery space showcasing work by local artist Emily Jarvis.

As for the food, it’s clear that the kitchen team care about what they’re doing. Every dish is made with fresh, local ingredients and a lot of thought. While the menu doesn’t list every single component, the staff are brilliant if you’ve got any dietary needs and will always do their best to accommodate.

The Corkscrew

At The Corkscrew, their aim is to create a unique fusion of Italian and English culinary delights, brought to you by the esteemed owner, Samuel Beggi. A Michelin Star-Multi AA Rosette trained Chef, Samuel combines his expertise with his passion for both cuisines to craft an unforgettable dining experience.

Drawing inspiration from his upbringing in Italy, Samuel infuses his dishes with authentic flavours using traditional products and methods from his hometown. The result is a unique blend that transports you to the heart of Italy while incorporating the amazing fresh seasonal produce found in Norfolk. Jarrold Wine Bars

Address: 1 -11 London Street

Did you know there are two brilliant wine bars tucked away inside Jarrolds department store? Whether you’re in need of a breather mid-shop or simply fancy something delicious, the Patisserie Wine Bar and the Cheese & Charcuterie Bar are great spots to relax and refuel.

At the Patisserie Wine Bar, you can enjoy some of the deli’s most-loved bites, plus a few special dishes created by Richard Bainbridge from Benedicts Restaurant. It’s a great place to grab a light lunch, enjoy a quick snack, or settle in for a leisurely glass of wine with something tasty on the side.

If you love cheese and charcuterie, then the Cheese & Charcuterie Bar is the place to be. It’s got a bigger deli space, a lovely little bar, and plenty of tempting platters and bar snacks, all paired perfectly with wine.

Just keep in mind, food service finishes an hour before the store closes, and the bar stops pouring drinks 30 minutes before closing time. And don’t forget, the Jarrolds Food Hall has a fantastic selection of wines to take home too.
